Breathwork Contraindications, Conditions & Considerations
Please note: All contraindications listed below apply to Activation Journeys only and do not apply to Down Regulation Journeys.

Contraindications

Admission is not guaranteed. Participation is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Currently pregnant (no admission during pregnancy — no exceptions)
Cardiovascular disease, including:
High blood pressure
Aneurysms
Cardiovascular conditions
Abnormally high blood pressure
Mental health conditions involving psychosis or severe dissociation
Severe psychiatric symptoms, including psychosis or paranoia
Bipolar disorder
Taking psychiatric medications
Recent surgery or significant physical injuries
Active substance abuse
Anyone experiencing an emotional or spiritual crisis
Anyone with a mental illness who is not currently in treatment or does not have adequate support
Relative Contraindications
Please consult with your physician before participating if any of the following apply:
History of seizures or epilepsy
Taking heavy medications
Osteoporosis
Glaucoma
Respiratory conditions such as asthma
Recent significant trauma or loss
Eating disorders
If you have asthma:
Please bring your inhaler and consult both your physician and your breathwork facilitator before participating.

Before You Participate
To participate in a breathwork session, you must complete the Breathwork Intake Form.
The intake form is also included as part of the checkout process when booking your session.
